Ultra liberal columnist, Cynthia Tucker, is leaving the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Tucker, who is a native of Monroeville and an alumna of Auburn is taking a job teaching. "AJC editor Kevin Riley said Tucker’s column won’t be replaced 'because quite simply, there is no replacing Cynthia Tucker.' ” Finally some good news this week. Here's the report.

Well, sometimes, doing nothing is the best solution. Ben and the Fed are obviously as befuddled as the rest of us and decided (though not unanimously) that their best response to the market meltdown was not to muck it up any more than it already was. The market liked that.
